Nannie Elsie Robinson, 91, of North East, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. She lived most of her life in Oxford, Pennsylvania, but was born and raised in Russell County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Noah and Zilpha Taylor Rasnake of Lebanon, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Robinson of North Tazewell, VA and one son, Arnold Lee Robinson of Baptist Valley, VA.
She is survived by one son, David Robinson of Tazewell, VA; three daughters, Geneva Wooldridge on North Tazewell, VA, Kathy Crouse of North East, MD and Elizabeth Reese of Bristol, TN; one sister, America White of Lebanon; one brother, Noah Rasnake, Jr. of Lebanon; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
A long time member of Safe Harbor Baptist Church and second mother to Pastor Gary Gilbert, she loved her church family and enjoyed singing in church. She also enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Virgil Musick and Rev. Teddy Rasnake officiating. Interment will follow at the Taylor-Rasnake Family Cemetery in Lebanon.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
A memorial service will be held at Safe Harbor Baptist Church, 478 Daleville Road, Cochranville, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, from 7 until 9 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.
