Spanky and I must have been destined to be friends. We met the first day of school in 1957 and seemed like we always got along. Maybe it was because we shared birthdays. Still kept in touch when I started going to Charlestown Elementary School. Was in Boy Scouts together. One of the best times we had was when we had a campout close to the fire station south of town. A "roughing it" weekend. No tents. There was Spanky, Joey Weller, Jimmy Gill, Nick Stigliano and I was Patrol Leader. What a bunch! Made chocolate pancakes for Saturday's breakfast and stormed like hell that night. I joined the Air Force so I didn't get to hang with him that much after graduation. Still saw him every now and then over the years but not near as much as I would have like to. A friend that will be missed.
