Wayne Gordon Garvine Jr., 58 of Elkton, MD, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
Born in Wilmington, DE, on December 29, 1964, he was a Data Acquisition Systems Operator at Northrop Grumman for 16 years.
He honorably served in the United States Air Force, with 21 years of service, retiring as a Master Sergeant. While serving he received the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star, SouthWest Asia Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Air Force Graduate Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force training Ribbon, and NATO medal.
Wayne was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and a friend. He lived a life full of laughter, happiness, and love. He loved creating memories with his wife, family and friends. He spent most of his time traveling, camping, attending concerts (especially Billy Strings) and bluegrass festivals. He was a family man, he loved planning trips and having get-togethers. He cherished his grandchildren or as he referred to them, his "A-Team." Wayne lived his life with many passions including Harley Davidson motorcycles, Mopar, NHRA, space, and rocket launches. He loved his dogs Max and Harley; he took them for a walk every night.
He is survived by his wife: Lisa Lynn (Woody) Garvine; three daughters: Darian Garvine of Surprise, AZ, Rylee Garvine of Normal, IL, and Chelsea Hayes of North East, MD; one son: Christopher VanGilder of Elkton, MD; his father: Wayne Garvine Sr. (Ellie) of Boniface, FL.; his mother: Edie (Lord) Wardrop (Jerry) of Chesapeake City, MD; two brothers: Eddie Garvine (Kimberly) of Perryville, MD and Wes Garvine of Ocala, FL; and his grandchildren: Aiden, Austin, Addison and Adalynn.
Wayne is preceded in death by his sister: Theresa Garvine; and his son-in-law: Adam Hayes.
Friends may gather Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main St. North East, MD. Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm.
Interment, with full Military Honors, will immediately follow services at North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
Please dress casually.
