Teresa Lynn (Brooks) Hocking

Teresa Lynn Hocking, 62 of Landenberg, PA, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023 in the Christiana Care, Union Hospital, Elkton, MD.

Born in Havre de Grace, MD, on September 21, 1961, she was the daughter of the late John Arden and Edna June (Goss) Brooks. 

She was a DuPont secretary for several years and then became a homemaker who loved her family dearly and prided herself in caring for her grandkids.  Teresa was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church the majority of her life.  For 48 years, she dedicated her passion for playing the piano to the church.  She was also a devoted Sunday School teacher and choir director for many years.

Teresa is survived by her husband: John C. Hocking; daughters: Rachel Bove (Dave) of West Grove, PA, Nicole Hall (Brad) of Port Deposit, MD and Sara Lynn Hocking of Landenberg, PA; stepchildren: Mandy Fesel (Rod) of Dover, DE and Chris Hocking (Crystal) of Lewisville, PA; siblings: Larry Brooks (Louise) of Dawsonville, GA, John Brooks (Kathy) of Colora, MD and Sandy Stafford (Wayne) of Elkton, MD; grand dog: Saige; grandchildren: Reagan, Kylee, Rowen, Logan, Sadie, Brantley, Landon, Liam and Lawson.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 35 Sylmar Road, Rising Sun, MD.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at the church.

Interment will follow services in the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
