Sherry Tyler Obituary

In Loving Memory of Sherry Dawn Tyler

Sherry Dawn (Alexander) Tyler, a life-long resident of North East, Maryland, peacefully departed this life on November 5th, 2023, at Christiana Hospital in Christiana, Delaware. She was born in North East, Maryland on March 2, 1946, the cherished daughter of the late Lewis M. Alexander Sr and Rachele (Reynolds) Alexander.

Sherry dedicated 27 faithful years of service to the Veterans Affairs Administration, retiring in 1996. Her commitment and unwavering dedication to her work earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and supervisors. Her retirement years were anything but idle, as she found joy in part-time work at various local businesses, always eager to contribute.

Sherry is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Bruce C. Tyler, who stood by her side throughout life's journey. She was a loving and devoted mother to her son, Allen B. Johnson Jr, and his spouse, Danielle, as well as her daughter, Elan (Johnson) Martin, and her spouse, Jeff. Her four cherished granddaughters, Rian (Johnson) Nester and her spouse, Austin, Alexandria (Martin) Hernandez and her spouse, Sergio, Hannah Martin, and Emma Martin. Her heart swelled with pride for her two great-grandsons, Austin and Witten Nester. Sherry's family was the center of her universe, and her love for them knew no bounds.

She also had a love for dogs, particularly the Boxer breed. She leaves behind her boy "Buddy".  In her leisure time, Sherry enjoyed crafting, painting, and camping.  Sherry's artistic talents were a testament to her vibrant spirit and zest for life.
