Randall “Randy” Lawrence Reeves, 61 passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at his home in North East, MD.
A lifelong resident of Cecil County, Randy was born in Elkton, MD, on April 9, 1962 to William “Sonny” Lawrence Reeves, Jr. and Vanda Brumit-Reeves. He graduated from North East High School in 1980, and shortly thereafter began his 40-year career as a highly-skilled crane operator. Randy spent many years employed with Kuhn Construction, Greggo & Ferrara and for the past several years, he worked for the family business, Reeves Welding & Crane. Randy was incredibly proud of his family name, where he came from and the “roots of his raisin’”
Known to many of his friends as Poppy, he was also known to make people laugh with his quick-witted one-liners, jokes and teasing. Randy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, yet he cherished time alone because often times he was just a lone wolf. Randy enjoyed NASCAR, many genres of music (with Bluegrass being a favorite; especially Doc Watson), animals, fishing, being by the water, riding motorcycles, and he seldom missed 60-Minutes on a Sunday evening.
He is survived by his best friend of 20 years and wife of nearly 13 years, Angela “Ange” (Dill) Reeves of North East, MD; one daughter, Randi Grimm (Josh) of Elkton, MD; three grandsons; mother: Vanda Reeves of Spring Hill, FL; brother: DW Reeves of Elkton, MD; sister: Sonia Reeves Boone (Randy) of Sebastian, FL; two step-daughters: Kaitlyn Stewart and Madi Stewart, both of North East, MD; step-son: Andy Stewart, of North Myrtle Beach, SC; one step-grandson; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a gazillion cousins.
Randy is preceded in death by his father: William “Sonny” Lawrence Reeves, Jr.; brother: William Dale Reeves; nephew: William “Billy” Lawrence Reeves, III.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, PA, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 beginning at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
