Kathleen A. “Mia”, “Kitty” Jacobi, 80 of Charlestown Manor, North East, MD, died Sunday, July 22, 2012 at her home.
Born in New York, NY, on Nov. 6, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Betty (Malysh) DelFeno.
Mrs. Jacobi was retired from Red Clay Creek Consolidated School District where she worked for over 40 years as an executive secretary.
She was a graduate of Wilmington High School and Goldey-Beacom Business School. She was a Founder and Treasurer of Charlestown Manor Civic Association of which she was a member for over 50 years. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed the slots at Delaware Park. She also enjoyed shopping, collecting recipes and traveling with her late husband. Two of her passions were providing homes for the stray cats that found her and dining with her North East McDonald’s and Wendy’s pals.
Mrs. Jacobi is predeceased by her loving late husband and best friend of 52 years, Joseph B. Jacobi who died April 28, 2003; late son, Daniel J. Jacobi and late sister, Marie (DelFeno) DiStefano.
Mrs. Jacobi is survived by her daughter, Anne M. Jacobi and partner Christine Cox of Rehoboth Beach, DE; her brother-in-law, Domenic V. DiStefano and nephew, Domenic P. DiStefano both of Wilmington, DE; several additional nieces and nephews; her cats, Sam and Jack; her granddog, Gracie Bay; “Mia’s Girls”: Deborah Stocklos and Marnie Burk; and “The Herd”, Drennan and Cresswell Families.
Family and friends may call Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church, 809 South Broom Street, Wilmington, DE, with an additional viewing prior to services beginning at 10:30 AM.
Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the Cecil County Paramedics and Sheriff’s Department and the Charlestown Fire Co. A special gratitude of thanks to Bobby Crouch.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Delaware Humane Society or the Charlestown Fire Co., both in care of the funeral home.
