He was born in Elkton, MD on September 4, 1985.

John worked as a Diesel Mechanic for Ron English, New Castle, DE.

He is survived by his children: Hailey, John R., III and Dixie N. Utter; grandson: Joshua; sisters: Aleesha R. Lee and Taylor H. Bare; brothers: Corey and Jeffery Mutter; and his Dad: David McKinney.
