Harold Benton Hamilton, Sr.
A lifelong resident of North East, he was born on March 11, 1927, the son of the late Harry Hamilton, Sr. and the late Carrie (Irwin) Hamilton. He was the husband of the late Georgia Rose Hamilton who died on June 22, 1997.
Mr. Hamilton served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a carpenter.
He enjoyed carpentry, fishing, hunting, singing and tap dancing. A very loving husband and father, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving children: Harold Hamilton, Jr. of North East, MD, Karen Fortin of Elkton, MD, Patricia Plante of Jacksonville, FL, Charlotte Hamilton of North East, MD, David Hamilton, Sr. of Elkton, MD and Margaret Brumit of Elkton, MD; 1 brother: Albert Ritchison Hamilton of Elkton, MD; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Thomas Hamilton; 4 brothers: Harry James Hamilton, Carvel Theodore Hamilton, Clarence Burtram Hamilton, Sr., Arthur Cantwell Hamilton; and 1 sister: Carrie Emma May Hamilton.
