Donald Belcher Obituary

Donald Wayne Belcher, 59, of North East, MD, died Friday, September 24, 2021 in the Christiana Care, Union Hospital, Elkton, MD.

Born in Franklin, NJ, on December 27, 1961, he was the son of the late Ernest and Emma Ethel (Eck) Belcher.

Donald was a recently retired plumber. He was a very hard worker and started working when he was a teenager.  He was very proud of the beautiful home he built for his family.  He was extremely close to his family, relatives, and beloved Shepherd Bella.  He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  He was also close to his cousins and their families. He was happiest with his family and friends gathered around him for picnics and eating MD steamed crabs.  He had an infectious sense of humor and kept everyone laughing.

Donald had several hobbies.  He loved fishing, especially when he was fishing with his brothers and brothers-in-law.  His other passions included going to auctions and frequenting the Oxford, PA thrift shops and Amish green houses with his sisters.  He had a passion for gardening and birding.  He had many bird houses and loved having his Grandson Michael help him fill them.  He greatly enjoyed watching the birds, especially bluebirds, while sipping coffee from his front porch. Donald was a die-hard Baltimore Ravens fan. He and his wife Kim (his soulmate of 40 years) watched the games faithfully.

Donald is survived by his wife: Kimberly J. (Simmons) Belcher and two sons: Joshua Belcher of North East, MD and David Belcher of North East, MD; three sisters: Pamela Serra (Philippe) of Colora, MD, Helen Reil (Frederick) of NC and Mary Esposito (Frank) of Rising Sun, MD; and, two brothers: Ernest Belcher, Jr. of North East, MD and John Belcher (Brenda) of Hagerstown, MD; and Grandson, Michael Belcher of North East, MD.  He is preceded in death by his brother Greg Allen Belcher.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. There will be a visitation for family and friends beginning at 10:00 am.  Pastor Stephen Hokuf will officiate.  The family requests that individuals attending the service in person wear masks and socially distance.  The services will be provided virtually as well.  Please access livestream video on the day of service below obituary on this page.

Pallbearers are going to be:  Ernest Belcher, Jr., John Belcher, Phil Serra, Phil Serra, II, Greg Erickson, Ralph Veasey and Frank Esposito, Jr.
