Winifred Ann (Russell) Shumway
A lifelong resident of North East, she was born on Aug. 16, 1925, the daughter of the late Alvin Chester and Etta Mae (Smithson) Russell.
Ann was the wife of the late Richard N. Shumway who passed away on Jan. 3, 2014. She met Richard while he was stationed at Aberdeen Proving Ground and they were married in Feb. 12, 1946.
She was a member of the Eastern Star; and enjoyed gardening and walking.
Survivors include her son: R. Douglas Shumway; daughter: Susan M. Shumway; 5 grandchildren: Jason, Josh, Michael, Shawn and Aimee; and 5 great grandchildren: Megan, Macy, Trystan, Chloe and Savannah.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Ann was also preceded in death by 6 siblings.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation will be held beginning at 1:00 pm until service time.
Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery.
