William "Bill" Franklin Parrett

William “Bill” Franklin Parrett, 79 of Rising Sun, MD, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023 from natural causes at Autumn Lake at Calvert Manor, Rising Sun, MD.

Born in Elkton, MD, on March 16, 1943, he was the son of the late Elmer Losten and Elizabeth Rebecca (Laird) Parrett.

Before his retirement, Bill worked for Charlestown Marina, Charlestown, MD for many years.

Bill accepted Christ when he was 60 years old at the Dogwood Church, Elkton, MD where he was later ordained as a Deacon for the church. He faithfully served along side his “church” family. Pop will be greatly missed, but we are reminded that, “This is not the end, we will meet again.”

He was a beloved father to his son: Andy and his wife Rhonda, who loved him very much; a loving grandfather of 2 grandsons: Andrew (Casey) and Coty (Megan); and great grandfather of 4 beautiful babies: Ava, Luke, Greyson and little Addie Kate; his brother: James Richard Parrett; and niece: Betty Harlene Smith.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his siblings: Harry Losten, Milford Jackson, infant sibling, Elizabeth Rebecca, Elmer Junior, Betty Virginia, Howard Arthur, Cecil Leonard, Ralph and Charles Vernon Parrett.

Memorial service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Dogwood Church, 30 Dogwood Road, Elkton, MD.
