William Bennett Smith

William Bennett Smith, 75 of Sugarloaf, PA, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 in the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center, Wilkes Barre, PA.

Born in Chester, PA, on February 20, 1948, he was the son of the late Randolph B. and Mabel Shinn (Corbin) Smith.

He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army, in the 101st Airborne.

William retired from Union Local 413 as a commercial contractor.

He enjoyed roller skating at the Christiana Skating Rink.  He was a member of the American Legion Mason Dixon Post 194, Rising Sun, MD; enjoyed saltwater fishing and hunting.  He loved animals and supported many different animal organizations.

Survived by his wife: Cheryl Ann Smith; one son: William R. Smith (Kristie) of Rising Sun, MD; and three grandchildren: Alayna, Marlee and Waylen.
