William T. Russell, Jr.

William T. Russell, Jr., 88, a lifelong resident of Cecil County, died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at his daughter and son-in law's home in Crumpton, MD. Born in Richardson Park, DE, on May 13, 1923, he was the son of the late William Thomas Russell, Sr. and the late Lillian Marie Clymer Russell. Mr. Russell was the beloved husband of Lois Dale Jamison Russell. He served his country admirably in the Army. Before his retirement, Mr. Russell worked as a Construction Project Superintendent. He was a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 626 with 65 years of service; a Life Member of the VFW; and a member of the Methodist Men. He enjoyed boating, fishing, travel, dancing and winters at their Florida home in Cape Coral. In addition to his loving wife, survivors include his children: Susan D. Mercer and her husband Theodore L. Mercer, Jr. of Crumpton, MD and Steven T. Russell and his wife Pamela Sue Russell of Marion, IA; 2 sisters: Dorothy Ashbridge of Elkton, MD, Anna May Eldredge of Fort Myers, FL; 3 grandchildren and 4 3/4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Russell. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Karen Bunnell will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
