William C. "Bert" Patchell

William C. "Bert" Patchell
A lifelong resident of North East, he was born on February 8, 1929, the son of the late William Thomas and the late Mary C. (Nickle) Patchell.
He served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. William retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground where he worked in the Finance Dept.
He enjoyed pool, bowling and especially playing cards, but hated to lose! He loved to eat. The greatest enjoyment he had in life was the love he shared with his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews and the time he spent with them.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law: Chester and Marjorie Patchell of North East, MD; MD; his niece, Dana Krauss of North East, MD; 2 nephews: Kenneth Patchell of Lynchburg, VA and Tracey Patchell of North East, MD; 5 great nieces: Brianne Friberg, Jennie Patchell, Kristine Woodworth, Brooke Krauss and Taylor Krauss; 2 great nephews: Shaun Patchell and Michael Patchell; and his great-great nephew: Keenan Friberg.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Brian Friberg, will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where the family will receive guests beginning at 1:00 pm until service time.
Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to North East VFW, in care of the funeral home.
