William James Larkin

William James Larkin, 83 of North East, MD, died of cardiac arrest Saturday, November 21, 2009 in Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born in Cumberland, MD, on March 26, 1926, he was the son of the late Bernard and the late Margaret McDonald Larkin. Mr. Larkin served his country with the U.S. Navy during World War II as an aircraft mechanic. He retired from Avon Products where he worked as a supervisor from 1959-1983. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 6027, North East, MD. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, volunteering for his community, and most of all, spending time with his family. Survivors include his loving wife: Carolyn C. Larkin of North East, MD; four children: Michael Larkin and his wife Linda of Wilmington, DE, Jane Paladino and her husband James of Tampa, FL, Susan Larkin of North East, MD, and Ann Ferrazzo and her husband Tony of Elkton, MD; 6 grandchildren: Amie Smaciak, Jon Larkin, Daniel Nicholson, Adriane Ferrazzo, Anthony Ferrazzo, and Clinton Ferrazzo; 4 great grandchildren; Kayleigh Smaciak, Tyler Smaciak, Luke Crawford and Seth Crawford; and his brother-in-law: Dale Crouse and his wife Linda. Memorial services, conducted by Father Samuel Hartman will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 3:00 PM at St. Mary Anne's Episcopal Church, 315 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 2:00 PM.
