William E. Grubb

William E. 'Eddie' Grubb, 81 of Bay View, MD, near North East, died Thursday, July 1, 2010 in the University of Maryland Shock Trauma, Baltimore, MD. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, he was born in North East, MD, on December 18, 1928, the son of the late Claude S. and the late Phoebe S. Cornett Grubb. Mr. Grubb was the beloved husband of Kathryn Marie Grubb of Bay View, MD. He served our country in the U.S. Army from 1947-1950. He retired in 1975, after 25 years of service with General Motors, where he worked in the cushion room. A member of Shelemiah United Methodist Church, Bay View, MD and the Bay View Cemetery Association, he enjoyed flower gardening and bird watching. In addition to his loving wife, survivors include his daughters: Cindy M. Hamilton and her husband John Hamilton IV and Pamela E. Grubb all of North East, MD; two sisters: Retta Miller of Wagontown, PA, Kathleen Owens of Rising Sun, MD; 3 grandchildren: John W. Hamilton and his wife Heather, Kelly Justis and her husband Clark, Jill Humphries and her husband Tim; and 2 great grandchildren, Emily and Owin. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Garland, Olin and Kenneth Grubb. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. K.C. Lee will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment with full military honors will follow service in Bay View Cemetery, North East, MD.
