William H Debus, Jr.

William H. Debus, Jr., 79 of North East, MD, passed away Friday, January 31, 2025 at Christiana Care, Union Hospital, Elkton, MD.

Born in Baltimore, MD, on March 6, 1945, he was the son of the late William H. and Josephine (DiMartino) Debus.  He was the husband of the late Marita (DeLac) Debus who passed in 2015.

Prior to his retirement, William worked as a plumber for the DuPont Co. He then went on to work as a bus driver for First Student in Delaware.

He was a member of VFW Post 3420, Christiana, DE and the Knights of Columbus.  He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Eagles and Phillies, playing cards and watching westerns. Most of all, he loved his family and spending his time with them.

Survivors include his two sons: Joseph M. Debus (Mary) of North East, MD and Steven M. Debus (Catherine) of Crofton, MD; a sister: Joanne Berterman of Baltimore, MD; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
