"Wayne" Lonnie D. Church

“Wayne” Lonnie D. Church, 69 of North East, MD, passed away in Christiana Care Hospital, Newark, DE location due to complications from surgery on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

Born in North East, MD, on November 20, 1954, he was the son of the late Vernon Church, Sr. and Patty (Osborne) Church.

Lonnie retired from Chrysler, Newark, DE.  He enjoyed motorcycles, loved his Harley and fishing.  He loved his grandchildren and the time spent with them.  He would help anyone and give them the shirt off his back.

Survived by his wife: Candice Church; two daughters: Rachelle Church-Ganzman of North East, MD and Phyllis Gibson of Lakeland, FL; three sisters: Shirley Mackey of Rising Sun, MD, Sue Stanton of Elkton, MD and Joyce Speck of Elkton, MD; and one brother: Billy Church of Rising Sun, MD; and his grandchildren: Jazlyn, Aaliyah, Mavric, Jade, Miracle, Catalaya, Gavin. Along with great grandson Levi; & many nieces & nephews.

Predeceased by his stepdaughters: Stephanie Watson and Melody Hutchins; sister: Lorraine Nowland; brother: Vernon Church Jr.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm.

Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
