Walter Hendricks Richardson, 65 of Beavertown, PA, formerly of Rising Sun, MD, died Saturday, November 7, 2009 in the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, PA. Born in Elkton, MD, on April 22, 1944, he was the son of the late Charles "Diddie" Earl and the late Thelma Mae Decker Richardson. Mr. Richardson served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a Water Plant Operator for 37 years at Aberdeen Proving Ground. After retirement, he and his wife Ruth Ann moved to PA. He was a member of the American Legion Mason Dixon Post #194, Rising Sun, MD and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mercersburg, PA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, fast pitch softball and gardening. Survivors include his wife: Ruth Ann Richardson, of Beavertown, PA; two daughters: Kathy A. Brooks and her husband John of Rising Sun, MD, Tracie L. Truncellito of Westwood, NJ; his siblings: Ruth McNeil and her husband Dick of Colora, MD, Pam Jackson and her husband Kenny of Colora, MD, Charlie Richardson of Rising Sun, MD; and 3 grandsons: Austin, Josh and Justin, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service, conducted by Rev. Hal Owens will be held Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Ebenezer Church Road, Rising Sun, MD, where visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Interment with full military honors will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to either the Rising Sun Little League or American Legion Mason Dixon Post #194, both in care of Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD 21901.
