Walter K. Long, Jr.

Walter K. Long, Jr., 78 of Rising Sun, MD, passed away at home Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

Born in Elkton, MD, on January 21, 1945, he was the son of the late, Doris (Jarrett) and Walter “Jimmy” K. Long, Sr.

He retired from General Motors, Boxwood Plant as a Supervisor after 30 years of service. He previously served as the Assistant Fire Chief of Chesapeake City Fire Company.

Walter was a jack of all trades and loved helping others. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing and especially his grandchildren.

Walter is survived by his loving wife of 49 years: Linda (McNatt) Long of Rising Sun, MD; his children: Kathleen Cooper (Rick) of NV, James Long (Tammy) of Newark, DE, Pamela Poole of Elkton, MD, Belinda Johnson and Timothy Long (Jennifer) both of Rising Sun, MD; sister: Doris Stover of Suffolk, VA; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his sisters: Violet Easter and Carolyn Gonce.

Funeral service will be held Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD with visitation beginning at 10:00am.

Interment will follow services in Cherry Hill Cemetery, Elkton, MD.
