W. Scott Bunting Iii

W. Scott Bunting III, 82 of Hances Point, North East, MD, died Monday, June 6, 2005. He was the owner and operator of the North East News Shop for 30 years, retiring in 1987.He was born in Mount Vernon, PA, on May 27, 1923. He grew up on the family dairy farm, Maples Dairy, in Lancaster, PA. He graduated from Oxford High School, Oxford, PA, class of 1942. He attended Penn State University and was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. He was a former member of the North East Investment Club, North East Chamber of Commerce, North East Lions Club, and Chantilly Manor Country Club. He was a member of Oxford Lodge #353, F. & A. M. As a member of the Elkton Presbyterian Church for 51 years, he served as deacon and trustee and at one time, superintendent of the Sunday school. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late W. Scott Bunting II and M. Irene Thompson; sister, Helen Kaley and her husband Harry; infant grandson, Joshua Bunting; and son-in-law, Milo Titone. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jane Wilson Bunting; children, Susan B. Moore and husband David of Fountain Hills, AZ, W. Scott Bunting IV and wife Kari of Colora, MD, and Nancy B. Titone of Wilmington, DE; and 5 grandchildren, Matthew, Sara, and Sam Titone, Christine and Ryan Bunting. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, June 10, 2005, at the Elkton Presbyterian Church, 209 East Main Street, Elkton, MD, where visitation will be held 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM, prior to services.
