Viola Julie Price Lewis

Viola Julie Price Lewis, age 78 of Elkton, Maryland died Tuesday, July 22, 2003 in Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, Maryland. Born in Ashland, North Carolina on December 28, 1924 she was a daughter of the late, David and Elizabeth Price. She was a resident of Cecil County, Maryland for 50 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Wards Hill Baptist Church. She loved growing flowers, watching hummingbirds and spending time with her family. Mrs. Lewis is survived by her husband of 57 years, Howard H. Lewis, Sr., Elkton, Maryland; children, Esther Jane Thomas and her husband, Sidney, Elkton, Maryland, Wilma Ivalea Boehmer and her husband, George, Bear, Delaware, Ella Mae Daly and her husband, Chris, Elkton, Maryland, Betty Ann Owens, North East, Maryland, Donna Jean Sampson and her husband, Jerry, Hacks Point, Maryland and Howard H. Lewis, Jr., Elkton, Maryland; 11 grandchildren; 5 great- grandchildren sisters, Della Roark, Ivalea Blevins and Reba Houser all of Creston, North Carolina. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by a son, James Lester Lewis; a sister, Emma Mahala; and three brothers, Elmer Price, Carlie Price and Eula "Johnnie" Price. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 26, 2003 at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland, where family and friends may call 9:00 AM prior to services at the funeral home. Rev. Raymond Eggers of Wards Hill Baptist Church, Cecilton, Maryland will officiate. Interment will follow services in Union Cemetery, Elkton, Maryland.
