Vernie Day

Vernie Day, 79 of North East, MD, died Monday, July 4, 2005, at home.Born in Grundy, WV, on March 5, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Artemus and Polly Mullins Osborne.Mrs. Day enjoyed spending all of her time with her family.She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Ernest Day; 2 children, Patsy and Leslie; brothers, Sherman and Andy Osborne; 3 grandchildren, Gary Boggs, Ronnie Boggs, and Ashley McCoy.Survivors include her 6 children, Lawrence Church and wife Joanne of Surf City, NC, Janice Blakeley and husband Jim of North East, MD, Geraldine McCoy and husband Terry of Chesapeake City, MD, Fay Moore and husband Luigi of Chesapeake City, MD, Kathleen May and husband Kenny of North East, MD, Ralph Day and wife Susan of Charlestown, MD;sister, Patty Church of North East, MD;18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, July 8, 2005, at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12 Noon, prior to services.Rev. Dr. Allen Dickerson of Maranatha Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
