Vdare Ruby (Roark) Vaughn

Vdare Ruby Vaughn, 79 of North East, MD, died Monday, January 21, 2013 in the Calvert Manor Healthcare Center, Rising Sun, MD.

Born in NC, on March 4, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Earl Sloane and the late Virginia (Nelson) Roark.  She was the wife of the late Carl W. Vaughn who died in 1984.

An avid gardener who loved flowers; she also enjoyed quilting and bowling.

Survivors include her loving children: Carlette Gill of North East, MD, Carl W. Vaughn, Jr. of North East, MD, Dennis Vaughn of Hedgesville, WV, Doreen Land of Rising Sun, MD, Kenneth Vaughn of North East, MD, Kevin Vaughn of North East, MD, Teena Vaughn of Rising Sun, MD and Jody Vaughn of Elkton, MD; 1 brother: Curtis "Sonny" Roark of Elk Mills, MD; 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by 9 siblings: Paul, Cassie, Louis, Colleen, Willa, Harold, Carroll, Betty and Billy.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Rick Humphreys will be held Friday, January 25, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Interment will follow services in Bay View Cemetery, North East, MD.
