Valerie Carol McMullen, age 74, passed away surrounded by the love and memories of a family who meant the world to her.

Valerie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose greatest joy in life was her family. She had a caring heart and a special way of making those around her feel loved. Throughout her life, she treasured the simple moments, the laughter shared with loved ones, and the memories made along the way.

Valerie devoted 36 wonderful years to the Perry Point VA Medical Center, where she dedicated her career to helping and caring for veterans who had so honorably served their country. Her work reflected her compassionate nature and her deep appreciation for those who had sacrificed so much for others. She took great pride in making a difference in the lives of the veterans she served and retired after 36 years of dedicated and meaningful service.

Outside of work, Valerie enjoyed playing bingo, a favorite pastime that brought her many happy moments. Whether enjoying a good game of bingo or simply spending time with those she loved, Valerie found happiness in life's simple pleasures.

Above all, Valerie was devoted to her family. She took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each holding a special place in her heart. Her love, kindness, and the many wonderful memories she leaves behind will continue to be cherished for generations to come.

Valerie is lovingly survived by her son, Russell McMullen III; her daughters, Vicky Lynn Hadry (Brad) and Tammy Jean Kendall (Ricky); her beloved grandchildren, Holly Kim (Matt), Russell McMullen IV (Ashley), Kenneth Hadry (Leah), Tyler Hadry, Cody Kendall, and Kyle Kendall; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Arielle Hadry, Tyler Hadry, and Kenneth J. Hadry.

She is also survived by her nieces, Jacklyn McCord and Melanie Hickman; great-nephew, Cole McCord; brother-in-law, Jack McMullen; and sister-in-law, Kathleen McMullen.

Valerie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russell “Puggy” James McMullen Jr.; her parents, Frank and Gloria Savage; her daughter-in-law, Terri McMullen; her brother, Roy Savage; her sister, Wendy Love-Morey; and her nephew, Ryan McCord.

Although Valerie will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy lives on through her family, the generations she helped shape, and the countless moments of love and happiness they shared.

A private graveside service will be held at West Nottingham Cemetery, where Valerie will be laid to rest. The family appreciates the love, prayers, and kindness extended to them during this difficult time.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Russell McMullen III, Russell McMullen IV, Kenny Hadry, Tyler Hadry, Cody Kendall, Kyle Kendall.

Forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.
