Valeria Kay (Lewis) Mayfield

Valeria Kay Mayfield, 66 of Elkton, MD, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 in the Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE.

She was born in Havre de Grace, MD, on April 23, 1952.

Valeria worked as a nursing assistant at Perry Point VA Medical Center.

She collected rhinestones and liked playing “Words with Friends”.  The joys of her life were her grandchildren and she loved spending her time with them.

Survivors include her husband: Larry W. Mayfield; 3 daughters: Crista M. Sunderland (Jesse) of Elkton, MD, Michelle Rust of Magnolia, DE and Brandy Alley of Elkton, MD; her mother and stepfather:  Gail and Dewain Ess of Landenberg, PA; 3 siblings: Elizabeth McCloskey (Strat) of New Castle, DE,  William "Ted" Lewis (Brenda) of Bear, DE, Glenda Goeller (Bill) of North East, MD; the lights of her life: 2 grandchildren: Tyler McCall and Kayla McCall and one great grandchild on the way.

Valeria was preceded in death by her father: Clifton Lewis.

Memorial service will be held Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am.
