Thomas R. Gill

Thomas R. Gill, 72 of Elkton, MD, passed away Friday, November 26, 2021.

Born in Ryan, OK, on May 21, 1949, he was the son of the late Richard Lee and Alice Bertha (Reynolds) Gill.

Tom worked as an electrician.

He was passionate about baseball and was a very talented player.  Cal Ripken Sr. selected him to play in Pittsburgh in the late 1960’s.   Tom also helped start the Babe Ruth Baseball League in Cecil County. He enjoyed fishing and went every chance he could.

Survivors include one daughter: Krista Gill Snyder of Charlestown, MD; one son: Thomas V. Gill of Charlestown, MD; a brother: James L. Gill (Dorothy) of Elkton, MD; a sister: Donna K. Cooke (Mike) of Elkton, MD; two grandchildren: Steven, Samantha; one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by two sisters Bonnie (Gill) Pugh and Brenda (Gill) Smith.

Memorial service will be held Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Visitation will begin at 12:30.
