Susan Diane (Burton) Delaney

Susan "Susie" Diane Delaney passed peacefully in her home on February 12, 2024. She was on hospice care following a struggle with respiratory illness. She was also a breast cancer survivor.

Susie was born in Lexington, Kentucky on August 12, 1956. In 2001, her husband Mike's career in the horse racing industry moved them to Elkton, Maryland, where all of their children soon followed.

Susie was a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother. Her joys were horse racing, shopping, Western books and movies, and above all else, spending time with her loved ones. She had an infectious smile and laugh and her family will miss her beyond measure.

Susie is survived by her husband, Michael Hoy Delaney, her children, Amy Bowens (David), Amanda Smith (Jeremy), Molly Church (Benjamin), and Michael Patrick Delaney. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Haley, Andrew, Jacob, Lauren, and Henry, her stepdaughter Bridget Pagan, and her siblings, Charlotte Sciberras, Chrystal Kalos, and Charles "Buck" Burton. She is predeceased by her father, Charles "Charlie" Burton, her mother, Anna "Buggs" Burton, and her sister, Sherry Barber.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 4 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland.
