Steven Lloyd Reeves, of Elkton, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026. Born on July 14, 1988, in Newark, Delaware, Steven was a lifelong resident of Cecil County, a place he loved deeply and proudly called home. He cherished the community where he was raised and the many friendships and memories he made throughout his life.
Steven built his career in heavy equipment operation and landscaping, taking great pride in his work and enjoying every opportunity to be outdoors. He was known for his strong work ethic, willingness to lend a helping hand, and the dedication he brought to everything he did.
Steven had a passion for motorcycles and was the proud owner of two Harley-Davidsons, a Heritage Classic and a 2026 Roadglide. A devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, he could often be heard cheering, "Fly Eagles Fly!" on game days. He also enjoyed operating heavy equipment exactly like his father did, listening to music, and spending time doing the things that brought him joy.
More than anything, Steven will be remembered for his gentle heart and compassionate spirit. He was a loving son, devoted companion, and loyal friend whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of many. He cherished every moment spent with his family and adored his beloved dogs, Raven and Louie, who were constant companions.
In recent years, Steven experienced a profound renewal of his faith that transformed his life. His relationship with God became the foundation of who he was, inspiring him to encourage and uplift others in their own walk of faith. He found great purpose in sharing God's love by giving Bibles to those in need, creating resources to help others find hope, and studying to become certified to lead a faith-based recovery program through his church. Steven believed that everyone deserved grace, encouragement, and the opportunity for a fresh start. His desire to serve others and share the hope he had found was one of the greatest joys of his life.
Steven also loved cooking for family and friends, and some of his happiest moments were those spent gathered around a table with the people he loved most.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd D. "Danny" Reeves, Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Albert A. Castner, Sr. and Irene Castner; his paternal grandparents, Lloyd D. Reeves, Sr and Geraldine Reeves; his aunts, Treva Beyers and Darlene Castner; and his cousin, Jassen Castner.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Gail E. Reeves of Elkton, Maryland; his uncle, Albert Castner,Jr. of Elkton, Maryland; his aunts, Lisa Phelps (Don) of Newark, Delaware, and Dianne Cebula (Wayne) of Bear, Delaware; his uncle, Jimmy Reeves of Carsonville, Michigan; his longtime girlfriend, Lindsey Dillon of Homosassa, Florida, and her son, Kass, whom Steven loved dearly; along with many cousins, extended family members, and countless friends who will forever cherish his memory.
