Sis Holmes

Amelia Sophia Holmes, Known to all as "Sis", She peacefully passed from this life on October 12, 2005. Sis not only a native Cecil Countian, was born, spent her entire earthly 75 years, and died in the same house in North East. Sis brought joy and happiness to others by delivering flowers for over 35 years for North East Florist. She also enjoyed being astride her riding mower, mowing not only her own yard, but all the neighbors as well. Sis was a loyal but frustrated Oriole and Green Bay Packer fan. Sis was preceeded in death by her husband W. Couden Holmes. She is Survived by one son, Rodger M. Holmes of Rising Sun, MD. Also 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, as well as sister Pauline H. Johnson of North East, MD. Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 15, 2005 at the Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where friends may call from 10:00 AM untill 11:00 AM. Rev. Gerald McClynn will officiate. Interment will be at the North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
