Shirley Kay (Johnston) Thompson
Born in Washington, PA, on October 22, 1933, she was the daughter of the late William Wayne and the late Isabel (Dague) Johnston.
Until her retirement, Mrs. Thompson worked as an administrative assistant, for State Farm Insurance, Newark, DE. She was a founding and active member of Town Point Methodist Church in Port Herman, MD until her move to Maris Grove, Glen Mills, PA. She enjoyed writing; including poems, stories and keeping a lifelong journal. She also enjoyed swimming, crafts and a love for her cats.
Survivors include her children: Steven H. Graham (Denise Rosaio) of Elkton, MD, Lisa G. Lawson (Rick Lawson) of Oswego, IL and Linda C. Hughes (Ken Uniatowski) of Newark, DE; her stepson: Jeffrey W. Thompson of Annapolis, MD; a brother: J.H. Johnston of Spanish Fort, AL; and 6 grandchildren; Danielle, Richard, Renae, Jeff, Joe and Seth.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two husbands: Clarence W. Thompson, Jr. and Joe E. Graham; and a brother: W. Robert Johnston.
Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Ben Quintana will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 10:30 am at the Chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE. There will be a visitation prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 am.
Interment will immediately follow in the cemetery.
A memorial service will be held at The Chapel at Maris Grove, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA beginning at 3:00pm.
