Shirley A. Devine

Shirley A. Devine, 80 of Elkton, MD, died Saturday, December 12, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family.

A lifelong resident of Cecil County, she was born on July 31, 1935, the daughter of the late Charles and Louise (Evans) Spratt.  She was the wife of Reuben Francis Devine who preceded her in death on January 24, 2014.

Mrs. Devine was a mail carrier for the Elkton Post Office for 34 years.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Elkton, MD; was an avid walker and enjoyed gardening.  Most of all she enjoyed her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her 5 children: Teresa Head and husband Randy of Elkton, MD, Margaret Nutter and husband Frank of North East, MD, Joseph Devine, Jacqueline Allen and Ann Possidente all of Elkton, MD; 2 sisters: Genevieve Crouse of Fair Hill, MD, Billie Jean Hubbard of Elkton, MD; and her 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial, conducted by Father Jim Yeakel, OSFS will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 454 Bow Street, Elkton, MD, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am until service time.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
