Sherry M. Moorefield, a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant known for her loving and caring nature, passed away on April 26, 2026, in Bel Air, Maryland. Born on August 28, 1951, Sherry was deeply committed to her family and cherished the time spent with her loved ones.
Throughout her career as a CNA, Sherry demonstrated compassion and kindness, qualities that defined not only her professional life but also her personal relationships. Her devotion to family was paramount, and she was appreciated by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sherry Moorefield is survived by her loving family, including her sons: Timothy Howell of Port Deposit, MD; Richard A. Griest of North East, MD; Robert Griest of Elkton, MD; Joseph Griest of North East, MD; and Joseph Moorefield of Edgewood, MD. She also leaves behind her mother, Iona Ledford of Nottingham, PA; sisters Linda Johnson of Mississippi, Susan Bare of Ohio, Nancy Lord of Bainbridge, NY, Alice Rowland of Nottingham, PA, Iona Lane of Wakefield, PA, and Pauline Bare of Virginia Beach, VA; and brothers Larry Bare of New Texas, PA, Kenneth Bare of Rising Sun, MD, and Gary Bare of Rising Sun, MD.
Her family mourns the loss of her husband, The late Curtis T. Moorefield, her father The late William Grifith and her son, The late Jerry L. Griest, who preceded her in death.
A viewing to honor Sherry’s memory will be held on May 5, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., located at 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland 21901. This will be followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM. Interment following service will be at North East United Methodist Cemetery.
Sherry M. Moorefield’s legacy of love and care endures through her devoted family and the many lives she touched both personally and professionally. Her commitment to those she cared for and her family will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
