Sheri Lynn Cassell, 45 of Elkton, Maryland, died Thursday, September 4, 2008 in the Southern Chester County Hospital, West Grove, Pennsylvania. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, on February 9, 1963, she was the daughter of Jere and Donna Shaw Place of Elkton, Maryland. A graduate of the Cecil Community College of Nursing in North East, Maryland and the University of Delaware's Legal Nurse Consultant Program, she was a Registered Nurse and a Registered Legal Nurse consultant. During her twenty-five years in the medical profession, she worked most recently at A.I. DuPont Children's Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse. She also worked at Southern Chester County Hospital in Pennsylvania as Nursing Supervisor, Saint Francis Hospital as an Intensive Care Nurse, Harford Memorial Hospital in Harford County, Maryland and Tome School in North East, Maryland as Nurse and Legal Nurse Consultant. Sheri's professional certifications included Basic Life Support BLS and she was an instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS. Sheri loved The Tome School, its Staff and all the children in attendance where she was instrumental in setting up their school nursing program. When not pursuing her medical career, she enjoyed building furniture and constructed her own shop in order to do so. Most of all she loved and enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, mother and father. In addition to her mother, father and brother Todd Alan Place of Antioch, California, his daughter Brittany Nichole Place and his granddaughter Kaylin Conrad of Elkton, Maryland, she is survived by her loving husband Todd Frank Cassell of Elkton, Maryland, her children Jeremy Michael and his wife Krystyn Barr Cassell of Delaware City, Delaware, daughter Jessica Lauren, sons Sean Patrick, and Ryan Davis all at home and grandson Jarrett Daniel Cassell. Sheri was a member and Past Secretary of Elkton Chapter No. 84 - Order of the Eastern Star in Elkton, Maryland. A memorial service will be held Friday evening, September 12, 2008 at 7:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland. Preceding the memorial service, Elkton Chapter No. 84 will conduct an Eastern Star service at 6:45 PM. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 5:00 PM. Interment will be private.
