Celebrating the Life of Saundra M. "Sandy" Mace

July 19, 1959 – August 17, 2026

Saundra M. "Sandy" Mace, a devoted servant of God, talented artist, and cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware. She was 67 years old.

A Life of Purpose and Achievement

Born at Wilmington General Hospital in Delaware, Sandy grew up in North Wilmington and graduated from Brandywine High School. Her journey took her through North Wilmington and Newark, Delaware, before she settled into her beautiful home on the Elk River, nestled between Elkton and Chesapeake City, Maryland.

Sandy possessed a sharp mind and an exceptional work ethic. She built a highly successful career in Fleet Leasing Sales and IT Staff Consulting. Her dedication and expertise earned her corporate accolades and awards, reflecting the passion and excellence she brought to everything she did.

Faith, Art, and Passion

Above all her professional accomplishments, Sandy’s greatest devotion was to Jesus. Her faith was the guiding light of her life. She possessed a deep, heartfelt desire to share God's love, passionately working to bring her friends, family, and loved ones to salvation.

Sandy was also a gifted creative soul. She expressed her love for the world through music and art. She could often be found reading music and playing her guitar or capturing the beauty of life through oil paintings and detailed pencil portraits, especially of the animals she loved so dearly. Her compassion for living things extended to her charitable contributions, where she was a fierce advocate for animal protection and rescue adoption. She also loved to explore, feeding her curious spirit through travels including Europe and the United States.

A Gentle and True Friend

To know Sandy was to love her. She was a fun-loving, kind, gentle, sincere, and deeply honest person. Sandy had a rare gift for connection; she possessed the unique ability to maintain lifelong friendships from her very first job while continuously making new ones. Her warmth was evident to anyone who met her, including the staff and patrons at her favorite local restaurants, where she loved to share a meal and a laugh. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and beautiful memories.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband, William Price (Tony). She is also survived by her devoted siblings: sister Sharon Melton; sister Linda Yates and her husband Ronald; sister Susan Heeb and her husband Thomas; brother Dana Mace; sister Lori Maugle and her husband Michael; and sister Leisa Eichhorn and her husband Kevin and her Uncle Lawrence (Larry) Henderson, who is 92 years old.
