Sara Archer Phail

Sara Archer Phail, 91 of North East, MD, formerly of Americus, GA, died Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at home. Born in Phoenix City, AL, on November 27, 1915, she was the daughter of the late William Clarence and the late Ruby Cook Andrews Archer. She was the wife of the late Dyce Phail. Mrs. Phail served during World War II in the Army as a telephone operator. She served as the Church Secretary at the First Baptist Church in Americus and East Point, GA. She also taught music in schools and privately for many years. Survivors include: a daughter: Sara J. Hayes and her husband Harold of North East, MD; three grandchildren: Amy Hayes Fichter and her husband Rick of Haddonfield, NJ; Chad Evan Hayes of Miami, FL; and Scott Evan Hayes and his wife Kelsey of Bowie, MD; Six great grandchildren, Carter Fichter; Noah Fichter; Bauer Fichter; Holden Fichter; Maya Hayes; and Hanna Hayes.
