Sara Jane Blake

Sara Jane Blake, 87, passed away October 13, 2010 in Union Hospital. Born in North East, MD, she was the daughter of the late Essie and Jesse Alexander. She is survived by her daughter and husband, Joyce and Bobby Slagle, and her son and wife, Kenny and Donna Blake, granddaughter Jennifer Blake and Chris Mitchem, and great-grandson Blake Mitchem, two step-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren, sister and husband Marjorie and Chester Patchell, and sisters in law, Louise White, Ann Reynolds and Virginia Howard, and special friends Linda and Ollie Slicer and Sue Barker. She retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground in 1979. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the North East Fire Company for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, T. Kennard Blake, Jr., and sisters, Harriett Crouch, Catharine Goff and Helen Ward. Funeral services will be held at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 2:00 PM with visitation for family and friends starting one hour before.
