The family invites you to celebrate the life of Sara H. Baugher, who went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 22, 2005. The celebration will be held at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 150 Downin Lane, Port Deposit, MD, on Tuesday, January 25, 2005, at 1:30 PM. Family and friends may call just prior to the service between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM. Visitation will also be held Monday, January 24, 2005, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Dr. Harold Phillips will officiate. Interment will be in Rose Bank Cemetery, Calvert, MD. In lieu of flowers, it was Sara's request that memorial contributions be made to the Gideons International, in which she and her late husband, Stuart, were very active for several years. Mrs. Baugher, 80, was born on March 9, 1924, in Port Deposit, MD. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Lillian Nickle Barrett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Stuart W. Baugher; two brothers, W. Stanley Barrett and Maurice Barrett; and two grandchildren, Jonathan Henry Todd and Christina Baugher. Surviving Sara are her 11 children, Alice V. Douglas, Elkton, MD, Stuart W. Baugher, Jr., Daytona, FL, Paul E. Baugher, Jacksonville, FL, Joanne E. Taton, Oak Harbor, WA, David C. Baugher, Lancaster, TX, Henry A. Baugher, Daytona, FL, Nancy L. Sauselein, Port Deposit, MD, John H. Baugher, Elkton, MD, Helen M. Elville, Rising sun, MD, Joseph A. Baugher, Worton, MD, and Daniel T. Baugher, Elkton, MD; a special niece that Sara helped raise, Barbara Barrett Jackson; 44 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Sara Baugher's life was a monument of service to others. Though she was active in her church and the Gideons, her greatest legacy is her family. She had the marvelous gift of making each one of us feel like we were her "favorite". Her greatest desire for each of us was that we know her Savior, Jesus Christ, and walk with Him. Her focal verse for her family was III John 4, "I have no greater joy then to hear that my children walk in truth". "Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter thou into the joy of the Lord", Matthew 25:21
