Sanelma E. Tarkka

Sanelma E. Tarkka, age 85 of Elkton, Maryland, died Friday, September 19, 2003 at Laurelwood Care Center, Elkton, Maryland. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts on July 26, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Eino Leminen and Matilda Tuori Wigren Leminen. She was a resident of Cecil County, Maryland for over 60 years. Mrs. Tarkka was a homemaker and she was a member of Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, North East, Maryland. Mrs. Tarkka was the wife of the late Arne E. Tarkka, who died March 4, 1990. Survivors include her children, Sanelma Sutton, Alexandria, Virginia, Richard Tarkka, Charlotte, North Carolina, Stevn Tarkka and Linda Lewis both of North East, Maryland, six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, September 26, 2003 at Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 24 Cameron Road, North East, Maryland, where family and friends are invited to visit a half-hour prior to services at the church. The Rev. Jack Little of Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate. At the request of the family interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, c/o Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland 21901.
