S. Nivin Logan, 88 of Elkton, MD, died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Blake, MD, on November 16, 1923, he was the son of the late Ernest L. and the late Gladys (Williams) Logan.  Mr. Logan was the beloved husband of 65 years Evelyn Logan.

He was a farmer and also worked on Johnson Turkey Farm.  He worked at Perry Point VA Hospital where he retired after 21 years of service as the Superintendent of Grounds.   He was a graduate of Calvert Agriculture High School, Class of 1940.

Mr. Logan was a lifetime member of Moore’s Chapel and the Cecil Parish of United Methodist Men.  He enjoyed auctions and going to the mountains in Potter Co., PA.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children: Larry E. Logan and his wife Gayle of Goldsboro, MD and Nancy L. Lehr and her husband Daryl of Elkton, MD; 2 grandchildren:  Jason T. Lehr and his wife Melissa of Allentown, PA and Megan L. Wiecek and her husband David of Perryville, MD; a great granddaughter: Ellie Wiecek; his sister-in-law: Emily Logan Shoun of Rising Sun, MD; a nephew: Robert Logan of Rising Sun, MD and niece: Suzanne Lamborn of Elkton, MD.

He was also preceded in death by a brother: Ernest Lee “Bunny” Logan; a sister: Marie Logan Lamborn and her husband Frank  and a niece: Shirley Logan Singleton.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Moore's Chapel, 392 Blake Road, Elkton, MD, where visitation will begin at 9:30 AM until service time.

Interment will follow services in Friends Cemetery, Calvert, MD.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations made to Moore's Chapel.
