Ruth (Reisler) Starook
Born in Calvert, MD, on March 8, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John S. and the late Claretta (England) Reisler.
She earned her B.S. from Wheaton College in 1955. She worked as a Home Extension Agent/Home Economist in Columbia and Northumberland Counties. Ruth also worked several years for A.C. Nielsen, Northbrook, IL.
Ruth was an active member of Calvary Church, Lancaster, PA. She was very interested in arts and crafts, clothing design and sewing; was an avid reader on a variety of topics and studied her Bible daily.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband Samuel L. Starook, of Strasburg, PA; her brothers Ralph Reisler of Rising Sun, MD and David Reisler of Calvert, MD; her children Karen S. Barnes, Bruce A. Starook, Dean E. Starook; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She will be buried on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Rose Bank Cemetery, Calvert, MD in a family graveside service, conducted by Seth B. Barnes, Director of Adventures in Missions, Gainesville, GA.
Memorial services, conducted by George Duff will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Church,1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster, PA, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM.
