Russell Harland Smith

Russell Harland Smith, 56 of Charlestown, MD, died suddenly Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE. He was born in NY, on April 16, 1955. . Russ worked as a Bartender at VFW Post 6027, North East, MD since 2003. Previously he had tended bar at Market Street Café, Charlestown, MD for 13 years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan. For many years, he played in the Cecil County-Harford County Shuffleboard League. Russ is survived by his wife and companion of over 20 years: Gayle Smith of Charlestown, MD; his stepchildren: Danielle Rapposelli of Charlestown, MD, Christopher Voros and his wife Angela of Elkton, MD; 4 grandchildren: Mason, Reece, Jordan and Zachary; and his many friends. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help with expenses to Crouch Funeral Home, P.A.
