Rose Mary (Destafney) Marchese

Rose Mary Marchese, 81 of Elkton, MD, died Monday, February 9, 2015 in Union Hospital, Elkton, MD.

Born in Landenberg, PA, on September 17, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Charles Joseph and the late Margaret Theresa (Kelley) Destafney.  She was the wife of the late Vincent “Jim” Marchese who died in 1995.

Prior to her retirement, Rose worked as a nurse.  She was a member of the Immaculate Conception/St. Jude’s RC Church Parish and the Red Hat Society; enjoyed crocheting and playing cards.

Survivors include her four sons: Joseph Brown of Torrance, CA, Michael Brown of Newark, DE, Stephen Brown of Rising Sun, MD, and Timothy Brown of Perryville, MD; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Rose was also preceded in death by a son: David Brown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 13, 2015 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 454 Bow Street, Elkton, MD; where the family will receive guests in the Chapel beginning at 9:00 am until 11:00 am.

Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Elkton, MD.
