Rose Marie (Lyall) Kolodij

Rose Marie Kolodij, 65 of Middletown, DE, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022.

Born in Pumpkin Center, WV, on April 13, 1957, she was the daughter of the late William and Rose (McMillan) Lyall.  She was the wife of the late Nicholas Kolodij who passed on May 4, 2015 whom she loved so much.

Marie was a homemaker most of her life, she enjoyed taking care of her family. She kept a beautiful home and was an amazing cook. Reading was one of her favorite hobbies, she also enjoyed decorating, crocheting, crafts, country music & a nice manicure. She loved dogs especially chihuahuas, she had many throughout the years. Marie loved flowers and had beautiful flower gardens. She had strong faith in God and believed in the power of prayer. Marie was a sweet, gentle, loving person who was a “Mom to All” she met. She never ended a text or call without an I love you. Marie loved her family so much; her grandchildren brought her so much joy at the end of her life. She is a one-of-a-kind genuine kind soul who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children: Robert Strohmaier of Middletown, DE and Dawn M. Strohmaier of Charlestown, MD; spouse (Richard) siblings: James Lyall of Newark, DE, wife (Marsha) Mary Beatty of New Castle, DE, husband (Mark) Donald Lyall of Middletown, DE wife (Lisa) and Carol Keichline of Newark, DE late husband (William). She is also survived by four beautiful grandchildren Faith, Taylor, Mason & Mackenzie. Marie had many cousins, nieces & nephews whom she loved very much.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, October 8th at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Charlestown Missionary Baptist Church, 1168 West Old Philadelphia Road, Charlestown, Maryland 21901. Pastor Roger White will be officiating her service.
