Ronald W. Dean, Sr., "Dizzy Dean" 69 of Chesapeake City, MD, died Saturday, November 3, 2007 at home. Born in Elkton, MD, on April 4, 1938, he was the son of the late John S. and the late Elizabeth Kibler Dean. Mr. Dean was the loving husband of 23 years of Barbara Dean, Chesapeake City, MD. He was a member of the Maryland National Guard Company "E". He was an Electrician, self employed, owning and operating Dean Electric and eventually worked for Cecil County Public Schools as Supervisor of Facilities. He was very proud of his job at CCPS and loved working there making many wonderful friends over the years. Mr. Dean graduated from North East High School in 1956. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Chesapeake City, MD and of International Brotherhood of Electric Workers 313. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, wood working, gardening and talking with friends at Jack and Helen's. He was an avid sports fan, playing and coaching fast pitch softball as well as spending many years coaching Little League in Chesapeake City. In addition to his loving wife, survivors include: his children: Carol Cleary of Frederick, MD; Sherri King of Elkton, MD; and Ronald W. Dean, Jr. and his wife Sandy of Elkton, MD; 3 step-children: Mike Mabry and his wife Marcia of Galena, MD; John Mabry and his wife Ann of St. Louis, MO; and Jen Long and her husband Ken of Warwick, MD; his siblings: Maryann Bowers, John Dean and his wife Pat, Virginia Nelson and her husband Fred; 3 grandchildren: Rebecca, Kristen and Ronnie; 9 step-grandchildren: Casey, Trevor, Cayla, JT, Olivia, Danielle, Nicole, Emma and Samantha; and also 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Hollenbaugh. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 3:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may visit from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Rev. Amy Yarnall will officiate. Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
