Roland Chester 'Bo' Russell, Sr.

Roland Chester 'Bo' Russell, Sr., 89 of Elkton, MD, died Sunday, December 11, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, he was born in North East on August 11, 1922, the son of the late Chester Alvin and the late Alice Hamilton Russell. He was the husband of the late Iva Bertell Russell who died on Oct. 6, 2006. Bo served his country admirably in the US Army. He was self employed as a truck driver and logger. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 8175, Elkton, MD. Survivors include his loving children: Margie Russell Butler of Elkton, MD, Rolanda 'Linda Russell' Mullins of Elkton, MD, Roland 'Butch' Russell, Jr. and his wife Denise of Charlestown, MD, Charlotte Blankenship and her husband Ralph of Clayton, DE, Cheryl Doughten and her husband Paul of Batesburg, SC, Tammy Zabenko and her husband Dr. Robert Zabenko of Evans, GA and John 'Mike' Russell and his wife BJ of Elkton, MD; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; his sisters: Mildred Schuster of Elkton, MD, Shirley Dunlap of Elkton, MD; many nieces and nephews and his great loving dog, Millie. In addition to his wife and parents he was also preceded in death by 1 sister: Emma Jones, and 3 brothers: Chester Russell, Raymond Russell and Bill Russell, Sr. Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Rick Humphreys will be held Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM until service time. Interment with full military honors will follow in Bay View Cemetery, North East, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations to Seasons Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
