Rogers B. Liddell

Rogers Bonner "Bob" Liddell, 65 of North East, MD, died suddenly Thursday, November 19, 2009 in the Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, he was born in Havre de Grace, MD, on November 30, 1943, the son of the late John William and the late Dorothy Bonner Liddell. A graduate of West Nottingham Academy, he attended Goldey Beacom College. He was retired, and was a former Sales Manager for the Nor 'easter Magazine. He served in the Delaware National Guard. Bob was a member of West Nottingham Presbyterian Church and attended North East Methodist Church. He was a founding member of Hatteras Chowder & Marching Society, Trustee Emeritus of West Nottingham Academy, former board member of Upper Bay Marine Trades Association and the North East Water Festival, member of the North East Club, Outer Banks Preservation Society and the Wellwood Yacht Club. He enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay on "Miss L'Attitude", sailing in the Caribbean, bay and surf fishing, tying salt water fishing lures, collecting antique fishing reels, and N-gauge trains. Survivors include his loving wife: Sharon Crouch Liddell of North East, MD; a son: Christopher Paul Barrick of Baltimore, MD; a sister: Dorothy Liddell McThenia of Media, PA; his best friend: George Heiney; and his beloved cocker spaniel, Chi. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Daniel T. Gedman will be held Monday, November 23, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday evening, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob may be made to: West Nottingham Academy or the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, both in care of the funeral home.
