Robert A. Kubat

Robert A.” Bob” Kubat, 61 of Elkton, MD, died Friday, March 20, 2020 at home after a long, tough, well fought battle against lymphoma.

Born in Mt. Kisco, NY, on December 3, 1958, he was the son of the late Anthony and Geraldine (Rugar) Kubat.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Tracey L. (Miller) Kubat, daughter Sarah Kubat of Elkton, MD and son: Chris Kubat of Philadelphia, PA both of whom were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his sister: Cindy Kubat-Bertakis of NJ and of course his three dogs Kona, Yogi, and Gordy who are truly part of the family.

Bob graduated from Delaware Valley College in 1981.  He worked in the landscape and nursery industry since he was fourteen.  He was the co-owner and operator of Black Point Landscape Associates and Black Point Nursery.

Bob truly had appreciation for nature and the outdoors.   He enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing, the beach, traveling, and going on long walks.  Most important and meaningful to Bob, was time spent with his family whether it was relaxing at home or being on a vacation in the Caribbean.  His sense of humor was infectious and known by all and his silly antics were always welcomed.

Bob’s mantra is to live life to the fullest and “endeavor to persevere”.

Due to the current health crisis, a memorial service will be held at a later date. In the meantime you can look to the blooming trees, the birds chirping, the animals coming out of hibernation. Go outside, breathe in the new spring air and when the urge to laugh and smile comes across you know that it’s Bob saying he is at peace from above.
