Robert Edward Fritz

Robert Edward Fritz, 74 of Horntown, VA, formerly of Rising Sun, MD, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Welch, WV, on August 6, 1942, he was the son of the late Charles and Francis (Shoemaker) Fritz.

Mr. Fritz retired from the MD State Highway Dept. after 28 years of service.

He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, boating, camping and just being outdoors.  An avid reader of the Bible, he loved going to hymn sings.  The thing he enjoyed most was his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years: Betty (Dean) Fritz; three daughters: Charlene Clark, Bobbie S. Summers both of Rising Sun, MD and Angelia Adkins of Horntown, VA; and four grandchildren: Andrew and Nathan Clark, Matthew and Megan Summers.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation will be held on Monday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Pastor Phyllis Belt will officiate.

Interment will follow services in Ebenezer Cemetery, Rising Sun, MD.
